Oilpaintings
My paintings are closely related to my papercraft art. For a number of paintings, my paper bird models (see papercraft) served as a source of inspiration. In these still lifes I played with the concepts of spatiality and flatness present in these cardboard models. The paper birds are shown in their various states of development, as well as disintegration. Paper models were also used to make my paintings of the 'waterworlds' and the interiors with robots. I study the lights and shadows of these models, to create a surreal but lifelike world in the paintings. Many of the paintings are of a small size. For available work I refer to the website of my gallery 'Lieve Hemel' in Amsterdam.

Miniatures
Small paintings with a maximum diameter of about 4,5 inches / 12 centimeters. Click on an image to see it in detail.

Waterworlds & Seascapes
To make my paintings of the 'waterworlds' I made use of paper models. I study the lights and shadows of these models, to create a surreal but lifelike world in the paintings.

Landscapes
The treehouses show a romantic world of man in harmony with nature. However the treehouses, like the boats, are fragile and are not meant to last. The landcape-paintings are small in size, but they suggest a lot of space.
